Refund Policy

This Refund Policy specifies the refund criteria and procedures for the paid services of Specnote (specnote.io), operated by Dannect, Inc. Specnote is an AI-based scenario verification and test automation service. Users have a withdrawal right under Article 17 of the Korean Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce.

Article 1 — Withdrawal period

  1. Members may request withdrawal within 7 days of the supply date (payment date) of the paid service.
  2. However, because Specnote is a digital service usable immediately upon payment, withdrawal may be limited under Article 17 (2) of the Korean E-Commerce Act in the following cases. The Company discloses this on the checkout screen and obtains the member's individual consent in advance:
    • The value of the service has significantly decreased due to member usage.
    • The member has used paid features (running verifications, consuming credits, etc.) in whole or in part.
    • For severable services, the unused portion (remaining period or remaining credits) remains refundable.

Article 2 — Refund criteria

Following the "pay only for what you use" principle (Korean FSC subscription-economy consumer-protection guideline), the Company refunds the remaining amount after deducting the period or sessions the member actually used.

1. Withdrawal within 7 days

  • Within 7 days of payment and paid features not used even once: full refund.
  • Within 7 days but paid features were used: refund minus prorated daily usage charge.

2. After 7 days (monthly subscription)

  • Member's change of mind: no refund. Only the next auto-renewal is stopped.
  • Company's fault (e.g., service outage): prorated refund for the unavailable period.

3. Yearly subscription refund

  • Within 7 days of payment and unused: full refund.
  • After 7 days: subtract used months at the monthly rate + recoup the yearly discount benefit + prorated refund for remaining days.

Example: a yearly subscription used for 3 months after payment → refund = annual payment − (monthly list price × months used) − prorated deduction for the remaining period. In other words, the yearly discount benefit is recouped and only the unused period is refunded. Actual amounts are calculated based on the prices published on the rate-plan page.

4. Credit refund

  • Among purchased credits, the unused remaining credits can be refunded or converted into an extended service period.
  • The free credits granted at sign-up are not refundable (as they are not a paid purchase).

5. Prorated refund

  • Refund for remaining days = (monthly rate × remaining days / days in that month).
  • Less than 1 day is excluded from refunds.

Article 3 — Refund procedure

  1. Members request a refund by emailing support@specnote.io with the reason and order ID. (Subscription cancellation can be done directly at "My Page → Billing," separately from a refund request.)
  2. The Company reviews eligibility and responds within 3 business days of receipt.
  3. Upon approval, refunds are processed back to the original payment method (credit card). Card issuer processing typically takes 3-7 business days (international cards up to 30 days).
  4. If the Company delays the refund without justifiable cause, late-payment interest under Article 18 of the Korean E-Commerce Act applies.

Article 4 — Refund-ineligible cases

  1. Forced withdrawal due to terms violation.
  2. Change of mind on a monthly/yearly subscription (more than 7 days after the supply date and paid features used).
  3. Member fraudulently received multiple free credits or discount benefits through improper means.
  4. Subjective dissatisfaction with AI-generated output (excluding clear system errors).

Article 5 — Special refunds

When the Company's fault makes the service unavailable (e.g., outage lasting 24+ hours), we refund the full charge for the affected period or extend service for an equivalent value.
